Changing of the guard

posted on 28.10.2019

We are very pleased to announce the outcome of the recent board election for REI Super after voting closed on the 14th August. The elections were for three positions of Member Elected Directors of the REI Super Board of Trustees.

Dianne Helmich and Jonathan Blocksidge were both re-elected as representatives for NSW and QLD. For Victoria, we welcome new director Richard Simpson. Richard is a past president of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria and 5th generation real estate professional, working out of his family run agency W.B. Simpson & Son, in North Melbourne.

Claire Higgins, Chair of REI Super commented: “Richard brings an invaluable set of skills to our Board and we are very pleased to have him onboard”. Claire went on to say, “his deep family history in real estate, experience and qualifications in business and accounting will help the fund with its agenda to grow.”

We would also like to thank retiring directors Beth Stratfold and John Bailey who have tirelessly served our members for over 21 years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their time and invaluable support and assistance over their tenure.

REI Super has six Member Elected Directors all with rich experience in the real estate industry, and they are voted to the board by our members. The remaining three directors are independent directors bringing additional experience and speciality knowledge to the board’s capabilities.

Our new directors took up their positions from 1 October 2019. See the REI Super board members.
